“I thought that I might be able to play for my country at the last World Championship. After the end of the last season I traveled to Cuba and talked with the head coach. He asked me if I would like to return and I replied of course! If there is a chance to once again wear jersey of my country, I would pack my things immediately and head toward the training camp. But, I did not get the permission of the authorities” said Marshall.
He also added that all suspended players should get the permission to return to the National Team.
“The Cuban volleyball would only benefit from that. I know that a team with Simon, Leal, Leon, maybe Juantorena, would be among the main favorites on every tournament. But, we have to wait for the decision of our government.”
