Nova KBM Branik had lost the first leg of the final in five sets – 2:3 (25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 22-25, 10-15), but in the decisive return match at home, it did not miss out on anything and after only 78 minutes won the game by 3:0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-19) with Iza Mlakar top scoring 19 points towards the victory.

The team from Maribor had already dominated the regular season of the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association’s women’s club competition and wrapped both duels with Calcit.  So this season’s only defeat to this opponent for Nova KBM Branik was the one suffered in the first final.

Which team finishes in third place is still unclear.  However, SVS Post SCHWECHAT has the upper hand shutting out compatriots ATSC Sparkasse KLAGENFURT by 3:0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-6) at home.  The second-leg match is scheduled for February 28.
