Red Rockets were better than Korean IBK Altos in the Top Match in Seoul (a kind of Japanese-Korean Super Cup played at the end of the season between the two teams winning their leagues) in a straight sets, with partial 25-13, 25-14, 25-23.
The Japanese champion (beat Hisamitsu Springs in the finals of domestic league) was led by Mizuki Yanagita (17) and Haruyo Shimamura (12).
IBK Altos (defeated hi-pass Zenith Korea Expressway in Korean playoff finals) had Destinee Hooker with 13 and Kim Hee-Jin with 10 points.
Top Match was also played in the male competition. After dethroning Samsung Bluefangs in Korea, Ansan OK SavingsBank Rush&Cash VC won this game as well by beating Japanese JT Thunders Hiroshima in the tie-break – 3-2 (20-25, 25-18, 27-29, 25-16, 15-13).
Top Scorers: Rush&Cash – Robertlandy Simón (27), Song Myung-Geun (14); Thunders – Leandro Vissotto (22), Yu Koshikawa (21).
