French team, the World League title holders, played against outsiders at start of the 2015 CEV European Championship – Pool B and despite winning in straight sets, two out of three were tough. Especially first one. In French triumph in Italian city of Turin, Antonin Rouzier was the best scorer with 17 points. Igor Omrčen had 14 in Croatia.

Croatia was on a verge to surprise French team in Set 1 as they were a worthy opponents. They had 5-3, but soon France turned over 12-9. Croatia didn’t give up as they gained 16-15 at second TTO. They even had one set ball 24-22, but then – Kovačević committed service error, Ngapeth slammed first ball, Omrčen spiked out of bounds, while Zhukouski sent first ball outside – France made 4-0 run (26-24)!

Second set was a one way street. French team gained an early five-point lead 12-7 and increased it until the end 16-9, 20-11, 25-14.

It looked like that the scenario will be same in Set 3 as France had 10-7 and  14-9 with Rouzier and Ngapeth playing flawlessly. But, Omrčen & Co. gathered strength and approached to 22-21. French players were more focused in finish 25-22.
