Paykan’s management published a note regarding incident and denied that there was any kind of sexual abuse from their player.
„Reza Safaei was going to see team’s doctor and wanted to use elevator in a hotel which he wasn’t allowed to use. Hotel maid tried to stop him, he got angry and pushed her food carts. Although hotel management regretted of their protests, the FIVB banned him to continue playing at the tournament and Paykan’s management sent him back to Iran,“ Paykan wrote.
