Coach Arrindell of the St. Maarten team said that he was not disappointed with the effort. “I am particularly pleased with the way they handled themselves against a very experienced St. Kitts & Nevis team. However I think we had too many service error which I think was a reflection of the nerves that the girls experiencing in their first major tournament,” he admitted.
Captain Mills spoke to the improved effort in the second and third sets. “We told the girls that we had nothing to lose against a tough opponent and we went and gave it our best shot. I was really impressed with the defensive effort in particular that carried us a long way,” she said.
