IRN M: Nikolov and Vermiglio end unbeaten run of Urmia

The six games were played in the 11th week of Iran’s Super League with three played in Tehran. In the last game of the day, Shahrdari Urmia VC suffered their first defeat after five consecutive wins, 3-0 versus hosts Paykan Tehran.

More than 2,000 fans were present in this match, some of them arrived from Urmia to cheer for their club. In only 90 minutes and in straight sets, partially 25-16, 25-15, 25-21, Paykan smashed opponents.

The Bulgarian from Paykan, Nikolay Nikolov, was best scorer of the game with 18 points, while Italian Valerio Vermiglio also stood out in winning team, with great attack organization.

Sarmayeh Bank beat Bazargani Javaheri Ghonbad VC 3-1 (25-17, 25-22,23-25,25-21) in 110 minutes. Shahram Mahmoudi from Sarmayeh with 23 points and Rasoul Aghchehli of Ghonbad with 27 points were the best players of the game.
