The experienced Brazilian Elisângela Paulino ’Eli’ came instead of Ukrainian prospect Khrystyna Pugachova.
Logroño published that they terminated the contract with Pugachova by mutual agreement due to the fact that she had difficulties adapting to life in Spain.
Besides playing in the home country, Eli was member of several clubs abroad, for instance Beşiktaş İstanbul from Turkey, Hisamitsu Springs from Japan (won national title) and Azerrail Baku from Azerbaijan.
Her previous club before coming to Logroño was Cemar/Maranhão Vôlei, which played in Brazilian Superliga last season but gave up on participating into top division this season.
