As expected, the guests pocketed the match, but the game was very close except for the last set (21-25, 23-25, and 13-25).

The hosts were breathing on the opponent’s back until the remainder of set 1 at DDM Sports Centre in Prostejov (21:23), and in set 2 they were even in the lead for a long time, even with a margin of 3 points (16:13). However, at 21:19 the more experienced rival started showing off its strength and turned the score around closing it at 23-25. Set 3 was already fully orchestrated by the guests who did not give any space for a sensation tonight as the match was attended by 1’200 spectators.

The game was quite close in the first two sets. We kept pace with the strong opponent in service and reception, but we could not cope with our rival in the other fundamentals, especially in set 3. Our spikers had problems to get through the perfect defense of the guests and ground our balls. On the other hand, the other side did better in attack, which was decisive,” says Miroslav Cada, the head coach of Agel PROSTEJOV.

“We did very well in two sets and we put pressure on the guests. And I think our service was surprisingly good. It is a pity we lost the remainder of the second set which we could have won. Then we just started making a lot of mistakes. Now we need to keep on working and improve our performance. Tonight we saw that we are able to play a tied game even against such a difficult team” singles out Solange Soares, the captain of the home side.

“We are very satisfied that we won in straight sets. Taking into account the fact it is the start of the season it was not possible to show great Volleyball. But the important thing is that we did not lose any points. It is going to take time to grow up and play better day after day” comments Rabita’s head coach Marcello Abbondanza.

“I am very satisfied that we started this competition with a victory. This is a very important event for our club and I am satisfied with the way we played today, because it was not an easy clash and it was the first game. I think that in the first two sets we had some problems to find our game. The opponent played very well in service. But in set 3 we proved we have a very strong team” says Rabita’s captain Mira Golubovic.
