At first, Polish media published that Bartosz Kurek may have decided to give up on his contract with JT Thunders, so that he could stay home with his girlfriend Anna Grejman. However, the player’s manager denied those rumors and stated that the matter is much more serious…
“Kurek is a professional and I can assure you that he would not risk such an attractive contract because he is in love. Bartek has health problems and he needs to consult with the doctors. He lost weight and he feels weakened, while the doctors are trying to find out what is wrong with him. Perhaps it is a reaction to supplementation, maybe it is something else. We are still waiting for the test results. That is why the player is still in Poland and not in Japan,” said Kurek’s manager Kakub Michalak for przegladsportowy.pl.
He also added that Kurek is not looking for another club and that he still wants to play in Japan.
“Bartek’s contract with JT Thunders is important to us and he is not looking for a new club. We realize that the situation is difficult for both sides. The Japanese club has put high hopes in Bartek as they want to fight for the championship title in this season.”
