“In volleyball one with fewer mistakes wins. We had 22 errors, including five in the tie break. With such statistics, it is impossible to win a game. It depends on the physical and emotional state of the players. Players just need to rest“ Vladimir Alekno said.
Alexey Obmochaev also spoke about the mistakes: “We were better than our rivals in all aspects. We risked, and sometimes there was not enough concentration. We lost because of our mistakes.”
Ireneusz Mazur doesn’t agree: “Zenit lost because PGE Skra set tough conditions. They forced their rival to the risky play, which does not always bring results. Polish team during the match began use more effectively. Russians over time lose confidence.”
Ireneusz Mazur added that in the first set Zenit had a huge advantage: “We looked miserable. Coach Jacek Nawrocki started to make changes, to look for the optimal composition and he succeeded. PGE Skra game has many faces, but most importantly they won. To win against the Zenit team always has its value.”
He named the favorites in the Club World Championship: “The top four will include the representatives of Brazil, Poland, Russia, and Italy. They are theoretically the strongest teams. Al-Arabi with Christian Pampel and Richard Lambourne looks interesting. They easily defeated the Egyptian Zamalek.”
