In the first match of the day Vermiglio and companions from Kazan passed 3-1 Dinamo Moscow (still without Kurek remained in Poland for visa problems) and so they won first place in Pool A.

The match, as both teams had already qualified, was characterized by a large turnover with Alekno who held off Anderson and then also Mikhailov from 3rd set while Cherednik was even more radical initially leaving on the bench Grankin, Kruglov and Veres then rotate all the men in the course of the match.
