RUS W: Lokomotiv take strong-willed victory over Uralochka in 3rd match of final series

Lokomotiv beat Uralochka-NTMK on the road in the tie-break to take the lead in the final series of the 2021/22 Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship with a score of 2-1.

Lokomotiv turned around the series of the 2021/22 Women’s Superliga Paribet (Суперлига Парибет Женщины) against Uralochka from 0-1 to 2-1. On the road in Nizhny Tagil where Uralochka play as hosts the entire season due to the renovation of their hall in Ekaterinburg, the Kaliningrad side triumphed in the tie-break.

The reigning champions not only trailed in sets twice but were also 4 points down in the 4th set (16-20). Led by Irina Voronkova (24 points), Valeriya Zaytseva (5 blocks), and Viktoriya Gorbacheva (71% reception; 28 digs, 1 error, 54% excellent), Lokomkotiv achieved a strong-willed success after which they’ll have the chance to take the title already tomorrow, on May 9.
