TUR M: Unrecognizable Arkas suffer another defeat, Fenerbahçe settle on top

In Round 2, reigning champions of Turkey Arkas Spor İzmir lost another match in the national league!

Ziraat Bankası Ankara was the second team to outplay Arkas in the Turkish championship and put title holders in a difficult position already at the very start of the season 3-2 (25-19, 25-16, 20-25, 21-25, 15-13).

Marcus Nilsson scored 24 points in the second win of Ziraat so far, while on the other side, 32 from Antonin Rouzier weren’t enough.

Fenerbahçe İstanbul is the second teams besides Ziraat with 2-0 score but only team with maximum 6 points. They defeated Maliye Milli Piyango Ankara at home court 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20) and settled at the top of the standings.

Metin Toy led the winning team with 18 points. Serhat Coşkun had 15 for Milli Piyango.

Halkbank Ankara finally gave some joy to their fans as they downed Bornova Anadolu Lisesi İzmir as visitors in straight sets, with partial 25-20, 25-23, 28-26.

Dick Kooy was superb in Halkbank with 22 points. João Silva collected 19 in losing team.
