In teh first match top-ranked USA defeated third-ranked China 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-22).
However, both teams altered their lineups with China putting in star Zhu Ting, who was the Best Outside Spiker of the 2014 FIVB World Championship.
Top scorers of the second match: Cursty Jackson 13, Jordan Larson-Burbach 11; Zhu Ting and Changning Zhang 14 points, Yang 10.
The four-match series now shifts to California; USA will host China on June 9 at UC Irvine and on June 12 at Cal State University San Bernardino.
