BYU
This will be the first final of BYU since 2013 (lost to UC Irvine 3-0) while Ohio entered gold medal match for the first time since 2011 when they beat UC Santa Barbara 3-2. Last season’s winners Loyola Chicago got eliminated in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) semifinal to Lewis (3-1).
There are several players which are expected to highlight the final such as Ohio’s best scorer, the French Nicolas Szerszen or BYU’s bomber Ben Patch. BYU also have great blockers like Michael Hatch or Price Jarman… no wonder they are major favorites in this clash.
Gold medal match will be held at “Rec Hall”, University Park, Pennsylvania on May 7 (2:00 CET).
