The game started with a minute of silence to commemorate Sylvie Cozzi, a former manager of RC CANNES, who recently passed away after gently and professionally serving the club for some 20 years. Both sides played a very solid match to the delight of some 3’000 fans in attendance; the score stayed close from the start until the end and via this win RC CANNES got the right and necessary boost of confidence to play another tough competitor in the next round of the competition, i.e. Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL of Turkey.
Sarah Pavan (27 points) and Aurea Cruz (13) paced MC-Carnaghi VILLA CORTESE while Anja Spasojevic and Tina Lipicer-Samec top scored for RC CANNES with 18 and 15 points respectively.
