It’s known which sum the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship participants will get at the end of the competition.
According to Gian Luca Pasini, the prize pool for the ongoing Men’s World Championship is 500,000 euros. Of that, 400,000 goes to the three teams that get on the podium, while 100,000 will be shared between players. But not all players. Seven to eight best players in the tournament will share this sum. And that is fine, but it’s not specified as per which criteria these 7-8 best players will be picked. If it’s statistics – then what statistics: scoreboard, blocking, reception percentage…? Will 7-8 top players that’ll get the prize be those from the tournament’s ideal line-up? For now, it’s confusing.
Recall that the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) already had some failures in the announcement of the World Championship and in changing the rule for the classification of national teams at the end of the group stage.
