RUS M: Zenit Kazan and Kuzbass victorious at the semifinals opening!

Zenit Kazan and Kuzbass Kemerevo have scored the wins at the start of the Russian championship playoff semifinals!

 

Zenit Kazan's trio Mikhailov (19 points), Anderson (16 points) and Ngapeth (15 points) created the first win in the semifinal series against Fakel Noviy Urengoy. The away side was close to tie the score after performing well in the second set, however,  they didn't manage to do it, letting Zenit double the lead in sets. 

In the third, Fakel couldn't do anything to stop the reigning champions and they let them win the first game.

Kuzbass Kemerevo have also scored a 3-0 win over Zenit ST. Petersburg. Even though it was a 3-0 win, the home side had many difficulties, especially in the second and the third set.

Yaroslav Podlesnikh was the top scorer in Kuzbass with 16, while Georg Grozer had 17 points.

Men’s Russian league playoff semifinals:

Kuzbass – Zenit St. Petersburg 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-23)

Zenit Kazan – Fakel 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-19)

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

Organisation of OG Qualification in Poland reminds me WCh2014 as far as a timetable, referees.. It is enough to compare all schedules of home NT with other qualification groups.. Poland NT is probably currently the strongest NT in men volleyball in the world, and it does not need any such a trick... Of course, it indicates also the role of FIVB, which is orientated mainly on a profit... Reply

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

um...did he protest as loudly during Italian tournaments in the past? really, if Poland was playing this tournament in France, we would have as unreasonable schedule as they had and, we too, would complain, but what does it matter? FIVB accepted the schedule, so Ngapeth can only blame his own federation for not fighting for this tournament's organization rights more. Reply
