According to our sources, prices presented here are approximate and can vary +/- 20-30.000€. These are netto prices, so clubs have to pay taxes on them of around 30-40%.
As you can see, salaries for women are much higher than for men. The possible reason for this can be that female volleyball (as a female team sport No.1 in the world measured in a number of participants) has many more fans and is much more watched. In relation to this, sponsors support female clubs more than male clubs.
It’s noteworthy that in some cases the price gets established in a “balloon” process, wherein the price for some really wanted volleyball player can increase a few times in a few years. The same thing happened in the world economy in 2008. Agents of other players then start to use that value to do a comparison of their players and then… well, that’s a story for another WoV Blog.

Oh my god, we are spending too much money for the ladies. YK Kim = Leon + NGapeth + Juantorena . Unbelievable….
Re: @Ali Y
I agree, but men’s salaries are not catastrofal. Ngapeth gets about 30k a month. But Yeon-Koung Kim, on the other hand, gets about 84k. That’s more than double the amount that Ngapeth gets. As a young male volleyball player myself, this is very disappointing.
Re: @Raivis
