Playing of Tsvetan Sokolov for Bulgaria men’s national team in 2018 is questionable, the head coach Plamen Konstantinov said to media in the country at the beginning of preparations for the inaugural edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

As Plamen Konstantinov revealed to media in Bulgaria, one of the best opposites in the world, Tsvetan Sokolov, might miss one of the two major tournaments in 2018 or, maybe, even both!

“Tsvetan Sokolov was examined by the professor Mariani in Rome. There is a trauma to the leg which can be healed or it can be operated. Tsetso will return to Bulgaria next week. I want him to be checked by Dr. Ivan Vasilev, to whom I fully trust. It is possible to rely on Sokolov for the Nations League and for the 2018 World Championship. We may have to rely on him for the World Championship only, but he may also undergo a surgery… We’ve agreed on everything with his club Lube. It is important that Tsetso feels good. If he cannot play anymore this way, it is quite possible he will undergo a surgery,” Konstantinov said during the first open training of Bulgaria in Sofia.

This is the preliminary list of Bulgaria for the Nations League.
