Her comeback was in style since she played in the CEV Champions League with Maritza Plovdiv.

In December we talked about your comeback on the court. How did you feel after playing your first game after a pause?

Honestly my first game was really emotional not only because it was the first after the pause but also because it was against a very strong team as Dinamo Moscow.“

Maritza Plovdiv ended the Champions League campaign with a 3:3 score. Do you think Maritza could do it even better?

Of course! Maritza is a good team with a very good coach and athletes. In the first round, they were so close to winning the match against Uralochka and played a very good game against Cannes and Dinamo.“

Maritza have also won the domestic championship. That means you have added another medal to your trophy room. Your impressions?

Yes, we did. But we had to stop playing because of the virus pandemic and we couldn’t really win the gold medals playing. This is my only regret.“

The coronavirus stopped the world and of course, volleyball has been affected as well. How do you spend time during this pandemic?

All the situation is very sad. Unfortunately, also volleyball has been affected. I am staying at home with my family spending all my time with my baby girl. I’m using the time while she is sleeping to practice at home. It’s very important for me to keep in shape.“

What are your plans for the next season?

I would like to come back and play at a high level again. But first, we have a job to get done with the Bulgarian National Team.“

What would be your message for the volleyball community, especially for the volleyball players who can only work individually right now?

We all miss playing volleyball! It’s very difficult to find motivation and work alone. But now that we have to stay home we better use this time to keep in shape and do some prevention. It will be easier to come back as strong as before.“
