Road cycling champion Jelle Vanendert tossed the first ball of the last and deciding match that Noliko MAASEIK played this past Wednesday against Iraklis THESSALONIKI and thereby qualifying for the Playoffs 12 of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men after scoring a 3:0 home win.

Vanendert had caused a sensation this past summer by claiming the most demanding alpine stage of the 2011 Tour de France finishing at Plateau de Beille in the Pyrenees.
“This was a great experience and I was very happy to be part of it. Volleyball is a great sport and I will for sure attend more matches of Noliko in the future” he says after he did experience the unique atmosphere of the “Lotto Dôme” for the first time.
