Both Algeria and Kenya improved their win–loss ratio to 2-0 and the qualification ticket has become a battle between these two, with the showdown scheduled for the third and final day of the tournament on Saturday. Egypt and Seychelles dropped to 0-2 and they meet in the final day to determine the third position of the four-nation tournament.
Kenya won the crucial points of their match against Egypt to pull off an exciting victory in 115 minutes. Kenya’s experienced opposite Lydia Maiyo was the match star. Not only was she the top scorer with 22 points but also through her leadership on court along with wing spiker Mercy Moim who scored an impressive 19 points. Egypt’s left attacker Sherihan Abdel Fattah was her team’s leading scorer with 22 points.
Algeria used their experience to overwhelm the Seychelles in 54 minutes. Zohra Ben Sallem was her team’s top scorer with 11 points, while Seychelles scorer Biong Maya scored seven points.
