Last summer two of the team’s best players, Todor Valchev and Dmitrii Bahov, were transferred abroad but Marek Union–Ivkoni signed two young stars, middle-blocker Ventsislav Trifonov and wing spiker Venelin Kadankov who have already found the right chemistry with their teammates.
Zlatan Yordanov, a member of Bulgaria’s national team that recently finished fourth at the U23 World Championship in Uberlandia (Brazil), has been practicing with the team only for a few days as he is still struggling with an arm injury. However, according to the medical staff of DUPNITSA, he is most likely to be back in action for the match with TOURS VB.
Waiting for the national league to get underway, DUPNITSA just won their last friendly match before the start of the season with a 3:1 over CVC GABROVO.
“TOURS VB is a classy team and a very tough opponent” says head coach Nayden Naydenov. “However, our young players will be giving their best for this home debut”. They will count on their fans that are expected to flock to Arena Samokov for the first major highlight of the season.
As for TOURS VB, they have a 2:2 win/loss record so far in their national league and lost their last game to BEAUVAIS Oise 2:3.
