This shows the engagement of the city authorities with the new path of volleyball all over the country. To thank such important event, FeVa was represented by some of its most important officials headed by its President, Juan Antonio Gutiérrez.
On the opening ceremony an international event took place with a friendly match of the powerful team of Buenos Aires Unidos, one of the best Argentine teams and Canucks from Canadá (they finished playing the World Challenge on Saturday in the nearby Mar del Plata field. There, Gutiérrez, José María Cuadrillero, Fabián Ramón and Oscar Ben represented the best of Argentine Volleyball.
Gutiérrez talked with the host City Hall Mayor, Patricio Hogan; and the Under-Secretary of the Federative Sport of Buenos Aires Province, Juan Manuel López Gómez, on the chances of FeVA to keep such venue to host part of its annual activities.
When the match ended the Mayor, Hogan reconfirmed their engagement with volleyball now that their sport centre is available: “This is a great fulfillment, a challenge that became real. It is with happiness that we welcomed both international teams for the opening ceremony and we enjoyed the match a lot, Miramar people is happy with the show they enjoyed”.
Hogan went on: “This gives us confidence to go on developing sport events. The doors of this venue are open for volleyball: we had already the first talks between the Argentine Federation and ourselves and we want to keep having volleyball event of this beautiful city”.
Maybe next match involves the Argentine National team as the Mayor said: “One never stops dreaming. and this is a dream we want to make real at any moment. Here you have the facilities welcoming you and ready for such important event”.
With an audience of about 2,000 seated viewers the new Sport Centre of the city of Miramar already is part of FeVA‘s activities as second venue for the Argentine Cups, now U 18 category being held in Chapadmalal.
