Fernandinha, a 35-year-old setter, decided to retire because she faced bad conditions at workouts in her club, the French Nantes Volley Féminin.

„Concrete court with a rubber band over, physical therapist present only twice a week and no therapy devices or acupuncture or anything. They do not stretch or warm up before training. Well, I’m 35 and physically fine, but these things reduced chances for me to play the entire season and be fine. We talked a lot and the club leaders and president know they need to improve it, but they had no budget for this season. They understood me…,“ Fernandinha said.

During her career, Fernandinha defended colors of almost all the best Brazilian teams. For example: Molico/Nestlé Osasco, E.C. Pinheiros, Brasília Vôlei as well some European giants.
