BRA M: Campinas secure the fourth and last semifinal berth – next stop Cruzeiro

Brazilian runners-up Vôlei Brasil Kirin/Campinas completed the Men’s volleyball Superliga playoffs semifinal line-up with a three-game sweep against Montes Claros in quarter-finals.

Fourth seed Campinas secured semifinal encounter with reigning champions and top seed Sada Cruzeiro by losing only one set in the series against No.5 Montes Claros, winning Game 3 in straight sets, partially 26-24, 25-21, 26-24. The captain Rodrigo Pinto ‘Rivaldo’ topped Campinas’ scorers with 13 points. Robson Augusto ‘Robinho’ scored 14 for Montes Claros.

No. 2 Funvic/Taubaté and and third seed Sesi-SP make the other semifinal pair. Schedule and timetable of the semifinal series are yet to be determined by the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV), but one thing is definitely known – Cruzeiro and Taubaté will have the home court advantage due to better Regular Season campaigns.
