Poland were the host of the tournament and they’ve managed to win it by beating Brazil 3-1 (18-25, 25-22,25-23, 25-22). Here is the report of that game: Poland vs. Brazil.
The Polish men’s volleyball national team was waiting for this trophy 40 years. It is interesting that the Polish fans were watching the game in front of Spodek arena. Watch their reaction after Poland scored the last point.
The first game of the tournament was played at National Stadium in Warszaw in front of more than 61,000 fans, setting a new record for attendance in volleyball.
