VNL W: China and Turkey scored wins over Thailand and Dominican Republic

China and Turkey scored their first wins in Week 2 of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

In the first day of Week 2, Turkey suffered defeat from Brazil while Poland defeated China.

Today in Macao, China defeated Thailand after four sets (25-23, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17) and captain Xiaotong Liu with 17 points helped host team to scored an important victory.

The captain was ably supported by Fang Duan and Mingyuan Hu who scored 15 points each. On the Thai side, Chatchu-On Moksri (13 points) and Ajcharaporn Kongyot (12 points) were the main leaders.

In Pool in Ankara, Turkey outplayed the Dominica Republic also in four sets (25-20, 17-25, 25-20, 25-19) and scored the fourth win in total.

Seyma Ercan Erkan was Turkey’s top scorer with 17 points followed by Zehra Gunes (15 points) and Hande Baladin (14 points) while the Dominican Republic were indebted to their Nations League top scorer Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez, who chipped in with a game-high 26 points.
