Russia head coach Sergey Shlyapnikov was satisfied with the win of his team over Poland at the beginning of the 2018 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League Finals in Lille (France) but is aware that it will not worth if “Zbornaya” does not beat the USA tomorrow.

“The first games of a tournament are always very hard. You need to adapt to the court, the lights… We managed to keep control over the first two sets with a little loss of the focus in the third one. But, eventually, we won the match. Now, we will look at tomorrow’s game closely and analyze the game plan of the U.S. team in order to try and beat them,” Shlyapnikov stated after the encounter against Poland which gave “Zbornaya” a pole position in Pool B when it comes to progressing to the semifinal.
