Kovač also wanted to put praise on Perguia’s fans who cheered during the whole game even when their team was losing. Fact that Perugia led for most of the game, got so close to winning the second set says a lot about this young team.
Della Lunga and Atanasijević played amazing with “Bata” dropping a bit in the last two sets but still managing to maintain high level of play, just not that high as he can be. Also return of Buti proved to be a big boost for Perugia’s as blocking now looks much stronger.
“What we missed? Maybe a bit of luck, at least in some deciding moments of the game. I especialy think of the serves that got onto net and over to our side. I don’t want to take anything from Piacenza but I sincerely regret losing because we failed to produce our opportunities.”
