The current titleholders of the Italian Men’s Volleyball Championship, Cucine Lube Civitanova, ‘locked up’ the middle blocker’s department with a big hit.
Lube hired a player that posed an insurmountable obstacle to them in the last FIVB Club World Championship final. The SuperLega champions announced the engagement with a 2-year contract of the Brazil National Team member Isac Santos, who’s expected to open a new post-Simón cycle. Fresh from a long militancy in Sada Cruzeiro, with which he ‘climbed’ to the roof of the world for the fourth time in December 2021 and with whom he collected numerous national and international trophies in 9 years, one of the world’s best middle blocker will now get involved for the first time in his career in a European team. Isac will be paired up with another newcomer Frenchman Barthélémy Chinenyeze in Lube’s lineup but both will have to watch out not to lose their starter’s places to Simone Anzani.
With Cruzeiro, a 31-year-old player won 4 Club World Champs, 6 Brazilian Superligas, 7 South American Club Championships, 6 Brazilian Cups, 4 Brazilian Super Cups, and 9 Mineiro Championships. Among individual recognitions, Isac has, among others, the one for the Best Middle Blocker of the last Superliga, and 4 for the best in his role in the South American Club Champs.
