Head coach Slobodan Kovač stated in the interview for WorldofVolley that he is satisfied with the way his club finished the transfer period.
“This year club’s president M. Sirci managed to form a very good team. First of all he managed to keep Aleksandar Atansijević and Luciano De Cecco, then he signed big volleyball names such are Ivan Zaytsev and Marko Podraščanin. Together with Berger, Birarelli, Buti, Bari, Della Lunga and the otehrs we indeed have a very good team. Hopefully, even better than in the last season.”
Sir Safety Perugia will face Cucine Lube Civitanova in the semifinals of the Italian Supercup. Kovač hopes that his team may start the new season with a trophy…
“I do not know if this new Supercup format is good, but this quality matches might help us in preparation for the new season. Yes, it is very difficult to be at the top level already at the start of the season. But, we are in the same situation as all the others. Everyone had their players participating at the Olympics and they joined the teams quite late. Italian Supercup is an important competition for us and I hope we are ready.”
