Jēkabpils Lūši were crowned Latvian men’s club champions as they beat RTU Robežsardze/Jūrmala in the fifth game of the final series of the 2020/21 Nacionālā līga playoffs in straight sets, partially 25-21, 25-17, and 25-20. Kristaps Šmits stood out on the winning side, who claimed the first championship title, with 18 points. Renārs Jansons scored 14 points for Jūrmala.

According to volleyball experts in Latvia, this year’s finals were considered the best and most exciting in the last 10 years. Jūrmala missed a huge opportunity to win the trophy as they dropped a 2-0 lead in the series, needing one more win to get crowned champions.
