Danes Captain, James Newman commented: “It has been a tough couple of weeks for Danes as we have been on the receiving end of two hard fought and close 3-2 losses.  However, we are determined to finish the season on a high note starting with victory atNottinghamthis weekend.”

Looking ahead to the weekend Newman added: “They are always difficult games against Nottingham with two of the last three matches going to five sets, so we will need to be on top of our game if we want to come away with a win.

On the other side of the net the Rockets will be desperately looking to secure vital points in their bid to keep their place amongst the division 1 teams. Rockets Coach, Paul Lamb highlights: “This is a critical game for us as a win will boost our chances of staying in Division 1, without having to playoff.

Previous encounters between these two sides signal that we can expect a close match and rivalry is fierce as they have competed in past seasons lower down the leagues – earning promotion in the same season.

Lamb added: “Rockets have had a fantastic rise in the last three seasons and in 2011-12 we beat Danes Watford in Division 2 North both home and away.

And despite Lamb’s confidence in his team, he has admitted that Division 1 has proved a challenge.

This season Danes have adjusted to the pace of Division 1 faster than we have, partly due to their previous experience in this division. The power and consistency of teams in Division 1 is a step up from last season, as you would expect, and we will be looking to match Danes and gain a vital win.
