Switzerland started the first set well and led on both technical timeouts (5-8 and 13-16). Unfortunately they could not use this advantage to win and lost 25-22.
The beginning of the second set was tight until Zhu and her teammates flew away and kept the advantage until the end of the second set 25-17.
China limited its direct errors. Svetlana Illic tried to change the rhythm and played Mandy Wigger isntead of Sirucek during the second set and then tried with Steinemann in the third. She also decided to change the setter, captain Marbach, with Bannwart. Switzedland had problems in the third set and lost 25-18.
Switzerland made 23 direct mistakes and their block/defense wasn’t good.
Laura Unternährer (14 points) was the top scorer for Switzerland, for China it was Zhu (18 points).
