Spain was unable to brake Guidetti’s defence even though they had many chances to get even in the first set. After the second technical time out Kozuch ”switched to next gear” and secured a lead for her team 1-0 (25-15).
After a somewhat close start to second period, Germany allowed Spain to get to 7-6 but not further. Kozuch and company destroyed coach Hervas’ team to get the 2-0 lead by convincing 25-15 score. It seemed that there is no solution for Germany’s defence since Spain was struggling to score.
Instead of playing of their major lead, Germany kind of slowed down in third set. It looked like Spain found their pace and managed to control attacks of Germany much better then in first two sets. Guidetti’s team regained the lead when Ssuschke-Voigt went to serving spot and Germany made 5-0 series making the result 20-15. After that Spain simply ran out of fuel and the final score was 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-17).
