Games top scorer was Aleksandar Atanasijevic with 21, followed by Gasparini 18, Urnaut 17 and Nikola Kovacevic 16.
There were no indication what so ever about Serbia losing this matchup. Game started pretty much like Kolakovic’s team wanted. Lead was there for Serbia throughout the entire first set, wich resultet in 1-0, 25-20 lead
From that point on, everything went wrong for Serbia. Even though they’ve led in the second set 20-18, Slovenia never gave up and equalised at 21-21 and eventually won second period by 25-23.
Fired-up Slovenians played with great confidence since that equaliser and dominated the start of third set. Lead was up for a long time until Serbia got result level at 21-21, but Luka Slabe’s boys had all the answers. 25-22 was the score in favor of Slovenia and sensation was at glance.
Serbia woke up then. At least that was the impression. Lead of 12-5 was not nearly enough for Serbs and Slovenia ended up running over defending champs with 25-19, 31 score.
