WCHQ M: Rwanda one step closer to Poland

Rwanda is one step closer to qualifying for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championships 2014 Poland, after defeating Nigeria 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 21-25, 25-17) in the fourth day of the African qualifying tournament Pool T at Palais des Sports in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Sunday.

Rwanda finished their matches with a win-loss ratio of 3-1, leading the five-nation tournament with 9 points, while Nigeria dropped to 1-2 with 3 points.

Christophe Mukunzi led Rwanda with 14 points, while Seyefa Dikiyya topped Nigeria`s scorers with 18.

In the other match of the day,  Algeria defeated  Gabon 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-10). Algerian opposite spiker Toufik Mahdjoubi played the greatest role in the victory as the team’s best scorer with 14 points.
