The Latvian Volleyball Federation (LVF) has reached a two-year agreement with Michał Mieszko Gogol on taking over the country’s men’s national team.
Gogol was confirmed as a head coach of the Latvia Men’s National Team, ‘beating’ 12 candidates for the position, three of whom entered the second round. The contract between LVF and Polish expert is concluded for two years according to the formula 1 + 1. If the team succeeds in qualifying for the next CEV EuroVolley, the contract will be automatically extended until the end of the tournament.
The 36-year-old Gogol started his coaching career as a very young man, at the age of 23, working in Poland only, both on a club and the national team level. His biggest success is, of course, winning the 2018 FIVB World Championship as the assistant of Vital Heynen. Gogol was without a job after parting ways with PGE Skra Bełchatów at the end of the last season.
