The Swedish Volleyball Federation (SVF) found a successor to Ettore Guidetti on the bench of its women’s national team.
Lauri Hakala was appointed the new Sweden Women’s Volleyball National Team head coach. The 39-year-old Finn has never had an international experience as the first coach. He was an assistant coach for the women’s national teams of the Netherlands and Finland, as well as the men’s national teams of Slovenia, Switzerland, and Finland. Hakala’s head coaching experience comes down to 2 clubs – Leka Volley in his home country and Sollentuna VK in Sweden.
Interestingly, for the last 3 years, Hakala hasn’t commanded any club or national team as he has worked for the Finnish Olympic Committee.
