Barbolini on timeout
Turkey coach Massimo Barbolini: I’m really proud of my team because we beat the No. 1 team in the world. Our defence and serve were really good today and we played really hard in the tiebreak. This game was very important experience for us. The good thing was that we continued to play and didn’t give up after losing the third and fourth sets.
Turkey captain Gozde Sonsirma: I’m really proud of my team because Brazil is the No. 1 team in the world, so I want to congratulate all my teammates. I think we won because our service, reception and blocking was good today and we could side out.
Brazil coach Ze Roberto: Congratulations to Turkey. They played well in the first two sets and in the tiebreak, while we were able to use our substitutes to do well in the third and fourth sets. It was a good match for both teams and allowed me to see what we need to work on. Turkey just played better today and we couldn’t get our defence going. Turkey also served really well.
Brazil captain Fabiana Claudino: We couldn’t play our game but we tried. Now, we have to start thinking about our next game.
