Even though Canada lost focus in the third set, coach Arnd Ludwig was happy with his overall team performance when Canada overcame Cameroon 3-1 (25-12, 25-15, 20-25, 25-14) in Tuesday’s opening Pool B match of the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship at PalaTrieste.

Canada coach Arnd Ludwig:

We started very focused and worked perfectly in some aspects. In the third set we lost concentration because my team thought the match was already over and stopped fighting. Cameroon fought as hard as they could and reacted with good serve.”

Cameroon coach Jean Rene Akono:

“We had problems with digging and passing. Our supporters helped us a lot. This is very important for us as my players are inspired by their support and that give us more courage.”
