MKD: BVA extends partnership with Halkbank for the good of Volleyball

The Balkan Volleyball Association (BVA) and Halkbank have extended their partnership up to the end of the next year via an agreement that was signed today in Skopje by BVA President Petar Jovanovski and Halkbank Deputy General Manager Erol Goncu. The ceremony was attended also by the Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of the F.Y.R. of Macedonia, Mr. Zoran Karanovic, and by Halkbank FYROM General Manager, Necdet Palakci.

Mr. Goncu stressed out that he had traveled to Skopje not only as Board member of Halkbank but also as representative of a Volleyball club based in Ankara that has significantly contributed to the popularity and development of the sport throughout the Balkan region. “This protocol will help us strengthen our partnership with the Balkan Volleyball Association which results from the evident historical, social, cultural and economic ties that we have developed with this region. We believe in the value and role that sport has been always playing, throughout all ages, in creating harmonious and peaceful relations among all communities and societies and hence we are always ready to get involved in such actions and sponsorships. The BVA is one of the most active and dynamic bodies placed under the umbrella of the European Volleyball Confederation and we hope that via our help all member countries will be able to support the development of the next generations of Volleyball players, thereby contributing international glory to our nations and to the Balkan area in general”. 

BVA President Petar Jovanovski insisted on his willingness to share the passion and great vision of Halkbank, recalling the importance of the support provided by that sponsor in order to stage last year’s BVA competitions. Jovanovski additionally stressed that this summer the BVA will organize for the first time a pre-youth Balkan Championship that will be also placed under the sponsorship of Halkbank. “The partnership with Halkbank will certainly help us contribute stability, success and a spirit of cooperation in all actions undertaken by the BVA” he said. 

Halkbank FYROM General Manager Necdet Palakci recalled that the company settled down in the F.Y.R. of Macedonia only one year ago and he was very proud of the visibility and exposure that Halkbank will be enjoying in that country also via the partnership sealed with the BVA. “Having worked for many years for Halkbank and being the CEO of our division here in Skopje, I realize that we are more and more committed to sports and to its values. Bankers normally search for the best financial and economic results and we do hope this spirit will be shared also in Volleyball, so that all players and teams will be going for their best always sticking to a spirit of fair play. We hope that all BVA member countries will be working together as businessmen, colleagues and friends”. 

One of the four Zonal Associations placed under the umbrella of the CEV, the Balkan Volleyball Association will be trying to exploit the support provided by Halkbank to help develop the sports of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball across the Balkan region.
