The game started very well for the home team, as they destroyed Vakifbank in the first set 25-15. The team of Giovanni Guidetti set up the control of the match in the second set, not allowing the home side to play like in the first set.

In the third and fourth set, we again saw much better performance of the Turkish team, especially in reception. During the fourth set, Volero had some opportunities to make comeback, but Kimberly Hill’s ace put an end to Volero’s hope…

The top scorer of the game was Lonneke Sloetjes with 26 points, while on the other side Olesia Rykhliuk ended game with 24 points.

These two teams met each other in the last season’s Champions league Playoff 6 round and Vakifbank won the game in Switzerland in four sets as well. Before this game, Vakifbank had won the match on their court 3-2.

Vakifbank will host Volero in the second leg of the Playoffs 6 round on April 5th.
