They are playing very well since the beginning of the season, suffering only one defeat out of seven games. Volley Menen are currently the biggest surprise as they managed to beat the reigning champions Knack Roeselare and their big rival Noliko Maaseik.
In the second round of the domestic league, they hosted Nooliko and guess what happened – the team that will play in the CEV Champions League group stage had to surrender after three sets 25-23, 25-19, 26-24!
That was a sign for all other teams in the league, especially for the reigning champions, to take this team seriously. Volley Haasrode Leuven have somehow managed to beat them in four sets, however, this game gave a huge confidence boost to the boys from Volley Menen.
In the six round, they downed the reigning champions, to keep the first place in the league, which is a huge step for Ratko Peris’ team.
They are currently in the first place and we believe that they want to stay there until the start of the playoffs. Are they capable to dethrone Knack Roeselare?
