The club’s announcement:

In connection with the leaving of the club by Mrs. Maret Balkestein-Grothues on December 6, 2017, the club, bearing in mind its statement on November 6, 2017, presents its position on this matter below:

1) On 20 June 2017, the club concluded a preliminary agreement with Mrs. Maret Balkestein-Grothues, which obliged both parties to conclude two promised agreements (sports and image) by 30 June 2017. The contract was also signed by the agent, Mr. Jakub Dolata.

2) Until June 30, 2017, the player did not show up in the club and did not sign two promised agreements indicated above: Jakub Dolata signed a contract instead of her.

3) The club paid all costs related to the international transfer (Dutch Federation, CEV and PZPS), the player personally confirmed the transfer.

4) In August, September and October 2017, the club took all possible and legally prescribed actions aimed at concluding with the player Maret Balkestein-Grothues represented by Mr. Jakub Dolata, two promised contracts, including the club gave the player the sole use of the flat and car and covered her with insurance, training, supplements, nutrients, sports equipment, full medical and physiotherapeutic care.

5) In the final contract, the player’s agent has changed some terms, which were unacceptable for the club so Chemik Police have offered an out-of-court settlement. However, the agent and a player refused this offer.

6) On November 7, 2017, the club asked the player to conclude the contract, to avoid going to the court

7) On November 8, 2017, the player refused to conclude these contracts without giving any explanations, nor any justification for such a refusal

8) On November 10, 2017, the club, betrayed by the player Maret Balestein-Grothues and Mr. Jakub Dolata, filed a lawsuit in the District Court in Szczecin to conclude two promised contracts

9) At the very end of November and at the very beginning of December 2017, the player, through a lawyer’s office in Brussels, requested the club to pay the amounts from the two pre-contracts despite her failure to fulfill these contract terms. In response, the club said that there won’t be any payments under the Polish law until the conclusion of two pre-contract deals

10) On December 6, 2017, the player left the club and the city of Szczecin, without informing the club about this, nor providing any explanations for this action. In addition, the player didn’t return the car and the keys of the apartment to the club.
