Sammelvuo is no longer the head coach of Zenit St. Petersburg. As the club informed, the Finnish expert decided to leave the Superliga Parimatch side at his own will in order to focus on work in the Russia Men’s National Team.

Sammelvuo was at the helm of Zenit since 2019, never bringing any trophies to the club’s showcases, as he was prevented to do so on the very last step on 4 occasions: twice in the Russian Cup and once in the Russian Super Cup and CEV Cup.
