Yana Scherban did not travel with Russian team to Rotterdam due to back injury, however it was expected that she would join the squad for the second stage of the tournament. But, that will not happen after all. Yana will remain in Russia and she will definitely miss the European Championship 2015.
“To put it this way – in principle Yana could have joined the team, but we did not want to risk anything. Therefore, she will remain in Russia where she will continue with rehabilitation. It’s a shame really. It would be much easier with her, because we would have much more options. Yana was very good at the World Cup and throughout the whole last season” said Vladislav Fedeev, General Manager of Russian team.
